Pictured to the left is a three week old litter of Greyhound puppies. They have fat, round bodies andshort legs. Notice the small pup on the right. Her name is Indigo Moon and by the time she was three months old was the same size as her brothers and sisters. She raced until she was five years old and is now retired and lives in New Jersey. The picture below is the same litter at three months old. They are just starting to look like Greyhounds, butstill have quite a bit of growing to do. Pictured withthem is their mother (Galaxy) on right side of picture. The puppy licking her face is Indigo Moon. |
Who said Greyhounds can't sit ? On the left is Apollo a 83 lb male Greyhound sitting for a treat, Stefanie is waiting for Sable to sit also before she rewards them with their treats. Both Apollo and Sable are registered Therapy Dogs and volunteer at a Health Care Center-Apollo is especially at home working with the Alzheimer residents--Sable is a clown and entertains all the residents with her antics. Even though at three months the pups are weaned, their mother is allowed to stay with them until she wants to leave them or until the pups get too rough for her. Galaxy was the type of mother who would have stayed with her pups until they were as big as she was.
